Wish to invite applications for the position of Community Development Worker
Full time (35 hours per week)

This person will work as part of a team implementing the workplan actions for Bere, Whiddy & Dursey Islands as prioritised by Bere Island Projects Group Ltd management team.

The person appointed will be expected to have:

•A minimum of three years experience in Community Development paid or voluntary capacity.
•Relevant 3rd level qualification (desirable)
•Experience of working with & facilitating groups in a community setting.
•Experience of networking and liaising with voluntary, community and statutory agencies.
•Excellent knowledge of islands and island issues
•Knowledge of the underlying principles and issues relating to poverty and disadvantage
•Understanding of community development and social inclusion issues
•Excellent skills in facilitation, report-writing and negotiating with statutory agencies.
•Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
•Be prepared to work flexible hours
•Access to own transport
